Hi, my name is Barbara & I have a long way to go to become fit. I'm a 14 year breast cancer survivor & have about 140 lbs to go to try to help alleviate the pain in my back due to degenerative back disease & a herniated disk. Since I'm 65 the doctors don't want to try to do an operation unless I can lose a lot of weight which is very hard for me. I'm a 14 year breast cancer survivor & have about 140 lbs to go to try to help alleviate the pain in my back due to degenerative back disease & a herniated disk. Since I'm 65 the doctors don't want to try to do an operation unless I can lose a lot of weight which is very hard for me. My nutrition is hard to work on because I can't stand long enough to cook at home & we have to do a lot of eating out. I'm especially having a hard time with sodium. I would love any suggestions anyone can make. I'm trying to do water aerobics about 3 times a week & experience no pain when I'm in the water. My husband & I eat plain foods like country folks & I would love to know things I could cook in my slow cooker without adding some of the fancy extras to them. So far since 1/1/13 I have managed to lose 5.6 lbs. so I've at least gotten started & I have a positive attitude.
