I am 5'4" and the most I've ever weighed was 140 lbs. In China, I get called big boned and fat all the time. I want to be slender by Chinese standards because I am Chinese, after all.
I never seem to successfully lose weight when it's planned. When I think back, all the times that I lost weight was unintentional. In 8th grade, I joined the Cross Country Team. I am a horrible runner, and I almost quit, but our team needed a 5th girl to qualify for competitions so I was talked into staying. By the end of the season, I brought my time below 12 min/mi and received an award for "Courage". LOL I grew taller and lost a lot of weight that year without realizing it.
Another time I could think of was in college. I spent the summer in China with my dad and bought a one month pass to the swimming pool. They had a dinky workout room by the lockers, and for some reason I liked the old spinning bike in there. I would listen to Britney Spears' "Britney" CD all the way through, which was about an hour long, and tried to keep the bike spinning to the max (I don't think there was even a nob to adjust the resistance). Then I would go swimming for an hour. Keep in mind that I wasn't intentionally trying to lose weight. I didn't realize how skinny I had become until I got back to the US and put my clothes on. It felt soooo good!
In the past few years, I've only lost weight when I was busy and distracted from eating, had a naturally reduced appetite (possibly due to warmer temperatures), or was too sick to eat. The times when I dieted or exercised to lose weight ended in disaster. I would give up one day and binge until all the weight was back. Fortunately, my body likes to stay between 60-62 kg so I usually don't gain more than that. Unfortunately, my body likes to stay between 60-62 kg so it's hard to lose weight!
Goal Weight 105-110 lbs (5 lb buffer)
Body Fat 18-20%
I am running 60 minutes per day at 5 mph. I also take dance, kickboxing, and spin classes.
I am 26 years old. I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. I have a home in Guangzhou, China, but I plan on staying in Houston most of the time now.

I live in Sugar Land - what about you? The next 5k I am signed up for is the Impact a Hero 5k in Sugar Land. It's a great race that I did last year so I would highly recommend it if you are interested. Where do you run in Houston?

Thanks for reading my blog, I leave Guangzhou tomorrow for Xiamen for two days then back to Ningbo then home to California. It has been an amazing trip.
My first night in Guangzhou we went into one of the alleys and took us a good 20 minutes for find the main street again. I got tons of people looking at the White /Girl, :), Then when we came out there was this huge rat. OMG. But other then that the city is amazing. So big, not what I imagined.

Thanks for the comment on my am I a runner blog. I went to your page and you look great...not big boned! Also did you know on your home page it lists your weight as 297. That is NOT correct.
