Harv47 ~ my journey

In 2006 I joined Spark and tracked *everything* for 6 months. I lost 25 pounds, and decided to take what I'd learned and go on my own. But the summer brought changes to our schedule (stopped exercising), and the holidays brought more food than ever. Unfortunately I gained the weight back and added on even more.

In 2007 my husband noticed he had put on some weight and he kept nudging me to start up with Spark People again so we were eating better. I couldn't find the motivation ...

But the summer brought changes to our schedule (stopped exercising), and the holidays brought more food than ever. Unfortunately I gained the weight back and added on even more.

In 2007 my husband noticed he had put on some weight and he kept nudging me to start up with Spark People again so we were eating better. I couldn't find the motivation until he started up his own account and we tracked things together. That did not last long! Once he lost a few pounds he lost interest.

I think it would be too hard for me to come back and track everything I eat as I did before. I know now that I was being too obsessive with it, going as far as weighing out the ounces of onions in a recipe. Onions! I've also learned that we do eat pretty healthy already, we just need to start exercising regularly. I do still put our favorite recipes into Spark People to find the nutrition info, and tweak the recipe as neccessary.

These pictures are from 2003. I'm probably about 30+ lbs. heavier now. But I seem to look deceptively thin for my weight, people are always shocked if I tell them.

Thanks for the suggestion of DP Berry creme as a way to replace regular Doctor Pepper. I'll check it out.
I'm so bad with the Dr Pepper I get teased with people saying they never see me without a DP in my hand. :)
