I have just started healthy eating again - and hope to lose at least 3 stone this year and more next. I have at least 10 stone to lose which has crept up over the past 30 odd years! So am aware that it wont disappear overnight (as much as I would like, I have not got a magic wand). I hope to have encouragement from buddy's alike. Taking one day at a time.

I wrote this back in January 2010 - I have nearly achieved my 3 stone marker in just 6 months - which is unbelievable! I have literally taken ONE DAY AT A TIME - dont think of yesterday's wrongs or think of tomorrow - today is the important day.

Now it is 2012 - a new beginning. I wanted to lose weight for my Silver Wedding Anniversary - I achieved this, not as much as I would have liked but 3 stones (42 pounds) is a hefty amount to lose. I have put back quite a lot in 2011, having had a shock family bereavement could not motivate myself. But one year on and its time to take stock and take care of me! I still have the aim of not being in a wheelchair. Having been diagnosed with arthritis in both hips and at some point being replaced - oh gosh I dont like the sound of that one bit. So to lose pounds and take the pressure off those poor hip joints and ankle and knee joints too. I have found the Chair Exercise Team - how wonderful and cannot wait to get started and show my exercise minutes creeping up.

My Goals:
To lose at least 1 lb a week if not more. To become healthier and fitter and not end up in a wheelchair.

My Program:
Update. Tis now 2013 and am back on track, because I now have no choice, as I have been diagnosed with borderline diabetes, so upwards and onwards, no looking back. Diet and exercise are the order of the day!. Its been a rocky road since joining Sparks, but I hope it will be smooth sailing from now on knowing that I a focus.

I live in England in a city called Bristol where I was born over 56 years ago. I am married for 27 years now. Work part time for the National Health Service as a secretary/administrator.
I like reading, chatting with friends on FB and meeting new friends too.

Other Information:
Teaching myself to play the harp - although dont practice as much as I should! My favourite quote at the moment is "life is not a rehearsal - make the most of today"!

    A fellow knitter is a fellow knitter. You wouldn't put a fellow sparker down because you had more experience, would you? Well, I don't do that with my crafts. Maybe you could learn a few things, and maybe you could teach me some. I've certainly never knitted a doll! That sounds awfully complicated to me! And I love helping people "figure out" how to knit or crochet. And honestly, if you can knit and purl, you could cable if you really wanted to.

    Adjustment to the medication do you mean? Possibly so - started it in October but first lot made me so ill I had to stop taking it. Couldn't leave the house!! A lot better now but you could be right.

    I've just joined a new team for knitters. It has 2 members so far, the lady who started it, and me. It is on my page if you would like to join? We don't have any goals or anything yet, as it is apparently "brand new". But you mentioned that you knit, and I thought a small team might be helpful? If not, I totally understand. I'm hoping that the team will be able to swap tips, hints, and patterns. Along with dieting and exercise advice. Have a wonderful day!

    It's a custom exercise, I had to look up the calories burned on an outside website. It said it only burns like 70 an hour, but it counts!
