I am Sparking as KG4PVOWIFE now:)

Cheesy, I know. But I've been on this ride before. I have battled with weight and body image since I was in my teens. I was thin in my early twenties for about a week LOL. But I didn't get thin by eating healthy and exercising so I gained it back steadily until a couple of years ago. Until May 6th 2009. That is when I committed to changing my life.

Over the next year and half, I lost 75 pounds, became a SP motivator, went from a size 24W to an 18 regular (16 if I didn't mind a muffin top). I ran three chipped 5Ks and a 10K with just my dog and my tunes.

Then somebody played bumper cars with the hubby's Jeep on a two lane blacktop en route to our anniversary cruise and I found myself halfway back to square one.

If I waste (any more) time lamenting about the fact that I am back in a size 20 or that my 5K time this past June was five minutes slower than my first race three years ago, I am going to go nowhere fast.

So I am going to try very hard to just focus on today and spend less time looking in the rear view mirror.

I went through your pictures and they are very inspiring. I am very motivated seeing that you were able to slowely lose the weight but also glow with health.
Please change your text colour, since I am typing without the words being visible...although its challenging.

"The Journey is the Destination." I love that! I need to make that my mantra, too. I want to remember that what I'm doing now (with exercise and nutrition) needs to be my lifelong goal, not just temporary actions to help me meet a specific weight. The journey I'm on is, indeed, the destination I want to always pursue. Thank you!
