I am extremely disappointed in myself over the past 2 years. In 2009, I had lost 45 pounds. Beginning in 2010 I started watching the scale move back up and simply did nothing about it. I continued to work out on a very regular basis, but simply couldn't get control of my eating ...

I am extremely disappointed in myself over the past 2 years. In 2009, I had lost 45 pounds. Beginning in 2010 I started watching the scale move back up and simply did nothing about it. I continued to work out on a very regular basis, but simply couldn't get control of my eating habits.

Today, I look at the scale and just want to cry. At 42 pound heavier than my low weight, I don't even know where to start. My schedule is completely out of control but I have been getting up early 5 to 6 days a week to fit in a 30 to 60 minute workout.

I know that I need to keep myself healthy. I also know that I use food as a coping mechanism. I'm just not sure how to make a permanent change in my life.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 58 pounds. I lost 45 pounds in 2009, but gained all of it back between 2010 and today. I will log my workouts and my calories daily and just keep "plugging away."

My Program:
Working out 5 to 6 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. Mostly cardio, but getting in some toning exercises every other day. Recently started counting calories again.

Jan 1 - 5K - (27:30)
March 20 - 7K - (41:05)
April 17 - 5K - (28:04)
May 2nd - Relay Marathon 7.2 mi. -(1:07:55)
July 17 - 5K - (26:58)
Aug 29 - Duathalon - (1:16:03)
Oct 30 - 1/2 Marathon (2:27:34)

I saw your post in the LBF group and I have a very similar problem. I'm new to trying to find and implement coping mechanisms that don't involve binging and I very often take it out on my husband and children (my girls are 6 and 5). And I often feel very remorseful with them when I pray with them before bed. I have GOT to get a handle on myself! Hope you're having a better day! emoticon

Thanks for being there for support. I've been doing a lot of reading lately and like you mentioned...I think we've messed up our metabolism by working out so much. It is just frustrating trying to figure out how to reset it so we donít have to live at the gym 24/7 just to maintain. Sounds like we both have similar goals and hopefully with determination and support we can reach our goals without t sacrificing family time and hours at the gym!
