Matching my inner beauty with desireable outer beauty

Am enjoying reading The Spark book and others' success stories here. I used to be a skinny minnie at 110; kids, medications, and a sedentary lifestyle led to close to 200 lbs. I am changing that, slowly sometimes, but slow and steady never lost the race right? A year ago, I qualified for the Lap Band with a BMI of 35...my current BMI is 31 and I no longer qualify! That is a goal I never thought I'd see! So come join me in my journey....

My Goals:
My goal was to lose 25 lbs. by Aug...I started this in January. If I lose more than that, great...my current short term goal is to prepare to jog a 5k in July. I just walked one a few days ago and think I could probably jog one if I train well.

My Program:
Incorporating more fruits and veggies in my diet, cutting out soda and only having red meat a couple times a month, watching my caloric intake; and trying to exercise every day, even if just for 10 min.

Personal Information:
Michelle Kirkland, from a small rural town in Missouri.

My email is moglekirkland@yahoo.com

Other Information:
Hubs bought me a Kindle for my birthday and I downloaded "The Spark" book and read it within a few days, as well as some other good books, will let everyone know of good ones I come across as I read them!

Hey, read your thread. Although you might have not gained 5 pounds of muscle, if you upped your workout time your muscles can retain water from it, for about a week. So fix the eating and keep the water coming! I want everyone to lose weight this summer! emoticon

You need to update your goals because your ticker says you lost 25lbs and it's not August yet! lol.

Hi! Thank you so much for responding to my post!!

I think together we can help figure some things out, and be there to support one another. I need it! My fiance tries, but he doesn't really understand hypoglycemia, so his comments of "this will get better" don't really help all that much. As this never will go away!!! Just go through different stages and hopefully become manageable!

I have no idea why, but my low blood sugar is getting WORSE as I lose weight. I thought it was supposed to help?! I used to be able to work out with just eating dinner beforehand, then it escalated to eating glucose tablets while working out, then that quit working. Then I went to juice before the workout. That worked for awhile, and now that isn't working anymore!!!

I've always had low blood sugar - even when I was thin (105lbs). But it wasn't as bad. I also was never tested, so I have no idea what my insulin was at that time. But now I know it is very high in my blood.

My endocrinologist told me this usually comes before Diabetes II. I'm freaking out, so this weight HAS TO COME OFF!!!

Congrats on your weight loss!! You've really done an amazing job! I'm glad you've found something to help you with working out.

Do you find protein helps? Protein does NOT help me at all!
