Just a girl who's trying to be who she always wanted to be

As is the case of many of us here, I've struggled with weight and body image issues for my entire life. I'm hoping to finally get there.

My newest goal is to run a half marathon. I've never been much of a runner (or at least I never thought I could be) but I've done 2 5Ks and a 10K and am hooked!! I finally realized I (yeah, me!) can be an athlete.

Update 10/2013...Wow, I didn't realize how out of date this was. I've now completed 3 half marathons. Although my time isn't exactly "competitive," I've still finished. Unfortunately I've lost and eventually regained the same 28 pounds but am ready now to do this for real.

Tracking calories, working on portion control. Trying to be more consistent with exercise, at least 3 days per week.

I'm a 37 year old physician and mom of 3, so I'm crazy busy! Trying to do more than just get through every day.

I love music, reading, art, cooking and being outdoors.
