Prior to injuring my ankle in a fall I was fit and healthy after finally getting into a routine with a fitness programme and being happy with my body shape. However when I injured my ankle and had surgery the weight started to pile on. I'm still not able to go for runs but I've realised that I have been making excuses for my weight gain in recent months (since I've been able to at least walk comfortably).

Not anymore!! Today I headed out and bought some workout gear and will be heading to the gym as soon as I return home from visiting family over Easter. I'm going to use my train journey to jot down some helpful hints for healthy cooking and fitness regimes which will fit in with my busy work life and study life.

I look forward to reading the motivational stories from other Sparky's out there and sharing my progress with any people who happen to come across this page.

Good luck everyone with your fitness and health goals!
