One Great Day At A Time

Married to a wonderful guy for 62 years in March, 2009-Both of us need to lose weight.We are exersizing Following SparkDiet suggestions We enjoy our grandchildren and follow their activities and sports. Have an 9 year old spoiled Shi Tzu and sorry to report-our beautiful 19 year old Himalyan-Persion mix cat passed away
of liver falilure.

My Goals:
increase fiber,calcium, iron, intake. Also I have learned here that I have to increase my carbs when working out daily.
(this is so easy to monitor on nutrition page!.)
Update-Feb. 2009- I have increased fiber by adding Benefiber to water three times a day, and adding 1/4 cup Fiber One cereal to most breakfasts, and we eat alot of beans,I add calcium supplements to reach recommended amount, and I check for iron content-adding raisins daily to my cereal too.

My Program:
keep track of foods eaten on SP, workout at home for now everyday possible,read most of the posts that pop up, learn alot from others ideas,
update- Feb.2009
I do workout daily with either/or heavy housework, Eliiptical or treadmill. Try to reach 120 minutes cardio in some form. I wear my pedometer daily and working on getting 10,000 steps daily.

Personal Information:
HAPPYMOM8, We spend half of our time between southern state and a northern state.

Either with or next door to one of our children. who keep very close tabs on us. We will be 83 and 85 years young in May and June and know the importance of eating right and exersizing daily. We are delighted that two of our daughters work out with us at a fitness center. Update- Feb. 2009- I am happiest that my DH is also conscious now of getting in his workouts on the Elliptical and Stationary bike plus he still keeps up with house repairs and yard work!

Other Information:
We love flowers and gardening. See my profile image. My husband likes John Grisholm books. I am reading spritual books. recently enjoyed the John Adams series. My, what our forefathers went through for our freedom! Up date Feb. 2009- We are now enjoying 2 or three movies a week from NetFlex. We work out during evening TV or movie time
