My Journey to Happiness...
I have been overweight my whole life. It's still hard for me to imagine being anything else but fat! I'm more then 1/2 way through my journey now and I'm finally understanding myself and how I WORK! I now love being active and just completed my first 5K and did a 27 Mile Bike Race recently! Those things were unthinkable for me just a year ago! The key for me has been to be consistent and NOT give up and fall into old habits. Many times before I've dieted for a few months, lost 30 or so ...
I have been overweight my whole life. It's still hard for me to imagine being anything else but fat! I'm more then 1/2 way through my journey now and I'm finally understanding myself and how I WORK! I now love being active and just completed my first 5K and did a 27 Mile Bike Race recently! Those things were unthinkable for me just a year ago! The key for me has been to be consistent and NOT give up and fall into old habits. Many times before I've dieted for a few months, lost 30 or so pounds, got to a plateau, then gave up. I calculated it once and I estimate I've lost over 150 pounds the past 10 years of dieting... then gained it back. I could be at my goal weight if I didn't give up! It takes time to re-train all the years of bad habits. I want to lose this life long baggage of weight, but I've now come to realize that it's not just about the number on the scale and my body. I need to work on the inside too. If that takes me awhile, that's okay because I know it will be worth it in the end!
