“It’s never too late to become what you might have been”. -George Elliot

My name is Erica and since having my two children I had gained more weight than I'd like. Obesity, heart disease and cancer are all hereditary factors that motivate me. My heaviest was 154lbs and I lost weight over the course of a few months by not eating fast food. I was not tracking my weight until January 08 when I joined SparkPeople at 145 lbs!

It's been 4 years since I started my Spark journey and I gained back nearly half of the weight I lost. I know this is due to an unrelistic goal weight and unsustainable fitness goals and a major surgery couching me for nearly a year! I am back with stronger tools in my arsenal and a reserve for fitness, not weightloss!

My Goals:
To get myself to the gym three days a week - once I get there I can do it, getting there is my problem!

To do something every day. Whether its just pushups and jumping jacks or a full workout, doing something EVERY day so that fitness is always on my mind!

To feel sexy around my husband, I miss feeling confident around him! I know he doesn't even mind but I do!

To be a great example for my children, exercising and eating healthy!

To be financially savvy and teach my children how!

To graduate college and be proud of myself and my accomplishments!

My Program:
Rewards
140: Ross trip
137: Movies w/ the fam
135: Dinner Date
132: New Purse
130: GOAL! New expensive jeans!

We gave up gluten and casein for my son's health about 2 years ago. Now we've taken it a step further and are eating paleo. Ready to feel better!

I currently take Lamital to treat my bi-polar disorder.

Personal Information:
I'm a wife and mother, nothing could make me happier!

I deal with bi-polar disorder, which some people mistake for unhappiness with my life, its a chemical imbalance, not something I choose, but I do choose to be proactive about it!

Other Information:
I love to cook and love getting new recipes for healthier meals!

Welcome to the Ostomy team! It was a blow when I got such bad UC that they took out my whole colon. My story is on my spark page! I'm doing great with exercise now...did 2 spin classes back to back today. Had one lady at my Weight Watcher's meeting thought my grand baby was my baby. Yeah she needs glasses because 61 doesn't look like a baby age??? You are doing great. I have had a minor set back with new stress watching a baby for a year that is now 15 months old. I can't get everything done and meal planning is out the window? Reading stories like yours helps!

Thanks for commenting on my page. Insanity will definitely help you get stronger if you push yourself. All those squats and pushups...ouch!
Keep up the great work!

Hi Erica,
Sorry just saw your answer to my board posts. I have to admit I haven't been as vigilant with the Insanity workouts as I should be. I did my fit test on the 2nd, first workout on the 4th and 2 or 3 since then (I started running around the same time and my knees and legs have been staging a mutiny). But I am back into the program come the 16th (traveling the rest of this week, so know I can't commit again right now).
How has it been going for you? What have you discovered thus far?? Love or hate it?
Let me know, if you are still interested I would love to buddy up and support one another. I know if I have someone doing it with me (even virtually, I'd be much more prone to stick with it).
Hugs to ya,
Renee
