Positively Mindful

Now that I'm back to Spark, I want to make sure the weight loss works this time.

Exercising every day is my one thing. I am being very disciplined about this because there is a family history of heart disease and diabetes.

2015 Resolutions
1.) Make a healthy lunch every day, unless I'll be eating out.
2.) Avoid alcoholic beverages entirely, until I am at goal weight. They have no nutritive value and work against losing weight.
3.) No coffee. I do not even like coffee! I hate it. So I always add some soy milk to it, so that it does not even taste like coffee. Alright, so I have been going through a lot of soy milk. Also, coffee causes your body to produce adrenaline, which makes you hyper alert and easily upset. The best source of energy should come from food and that is where I want to get it. I used to just drink herbal tea all the time, and I want to get back to that. It is way mellower. It does not affect your moods in a bad way if you just have the herbal kind.
4) Only sugar free cocoa, no other kind. The kind with sugar gives me a headache. I have been drinking it anyway. But that is going to stop!
5) Only sugar free candy, because sugar is not going to help me lose weight. And because regular chocolate candy seems to be some sort of trigger for me, I can't leave it alone! At least the sugar free kind has less calories.

I'm so sorry that your neighbors were so rude, but don't let it get you. You can't control what other people think, you can only control your reaction to them. You shouldn't feel ashamed or regret for what you're doing for your mom and for your own health. That should be your primary focus - getting well!

Not bad on the veggies considering I grew up hating veggies. If it wasn't meat and potatoes and fried, I didn't eat it. Now, I look forward to a salad and very rarely fry stuff. Funny how people's taste change over the years.

I used to live in the PNW - your summer temperatures this year are ridiculous! I hope it cools down for you soon.

Thanks for the info on Vitamin C. I also keep Low Sodium V8 juice on hand. I'm going to try to start drinking 2 servings of it a day. It has a lot of Vitamin C and more Potassium than the original version. Plus, I like it better than the original version.
