I'm 40 year old married father of a nearly 6 year old.
****So yeah, the weight has gotten a bit um...out of hand.
Recently been making some changes, try to get healthier, let go of some bad habits, make some baby steps, be a good example to my wife and daughter, etc.
I'd like to get down to my "goal weight" of 175 (good lord what AM I thinking). I realize this task seems insurmountable. I've been giving a CURSORY attempt at exercise (read:piss poor), and I'm not watching what I eat, etc... Frankly, I've been buying clothes to accomodate my new exterior, and I'm not real proud of it....My wife sent me this page and I'm going to try and get up to snuff on that.
okay, so ...goal - lose some weight, feel healthier.
I'm logging my food and working on getting some exercise every day...that's the program right now.
I play music, I like music. Of course, that lifestyle ain't exactly commissurate with a um "healthy one". So that's changing now.

Ok, so what if I'm back after about a years and a half and have backed off some.

Yeesh. So with the help of P90X, I did trim down a bit, though not exactly where I wanted to be....probably because I was a bit of a Nazi.
I'll bring the intensity, but I need to quit this "all or nothing" mentality I developed.
Hey, at least I wasn't 200 again before I started.

It is NOT insurmountable! You can and WILL do this! I'm almost to my 50 lbs lost marker and trust me, if I can do it by using SP so can you! This is a GREAT website.
