How are you feeling? Any better yet?

Well, I hope your loss continues this week. One thing I've noticed about my body is it's like it needs time to catch up. You're correct that our metabolism speeds up during infections, but it could also be that you've been working out really hard and taking a week of rest gave your body time to 'realize' (for lack of a better mechanistic explanation) how hard you've been working. For me, it seems like I lose the most weight when I'm doing nothing, which seems counterintuitive. The only explanation I can come up with is that while I'm working out hard, my body is clinging to what it's got to see what the fall out is going to be like. When I give myself a chance to rest, it 'decides' to let go. This is such horrible personification and not a very satisfactory explanation at all, but you've got me thinking that I should do some research into this. We can't be the only people this happens to. :D

You've also got me thinking that maybe I need to take a week of rest. Maybe that's why I'm not losing? I've certainly been EXHAUSTED lately, so maybe if I give my body time to 'catch up' I'll see the loss I'm so desperate for. Who knows?

So how did the interview go? Been thinking about you today on that. How is the weight loss going? Have you lost anything yet?

I am really struggling this time around because of personal matters, and it really sucks. I am trying to keep my head together to at least get in my workouts every day and to focus on not eating horribly. But I am doing horrible at keeping up with the challenge and sparkpeople. :(
