Old Problems Need New Solutions

5/17/2012: This is my third shot at using SparkPeople to help me lose weight and regain health and fitness. For me, as for many others, it is not just about what is wrong with my waistline. The fat is a symptom of a deeper issue, one of dissatisfaction with myself and with my life. There are issues I have ignored for years that need to be addressed, and while dealing with them will be painful, ignoring them will be fatal.

Thanks to each one of you for your kind thoughts and helpful comments. This has been, and continues to be, a rough time in my life. But it helps to have the support of others who understand what I am going through. I will persevere with the help of my many friends, both near and far. Thank you all, once again.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know nothing people say or do really helps, but I want you to know that you are in my thoughts, and if you feel like talking I am here. (((HUGS)))

I hope you don't mind that I added you as a friend :) I read your profile and what struck me was what you said: "There are issues I have ignored for years that need to be addressed, and while dealing with them will be painful, ignoring them will be fatal. "

Fatal from a physical perspective because it is affecting health and fatal from a spiritual perspective as it is affecting the divine person you are. :)

It takes strength to admit to yourself - let alone to others that you need to deal with issues. Congrats!

Wishing you every success on your journey! :) I have been on mine for the last few years and have made a lot of painful changes as well.
