Key of my success? Tracking food. Even if I'm out of my calorie budget. Then, 10 min exercise. Every day. Sun, rain, volcanos - no issue, I'm out there and my 10 min is in.
It was not by accident I landed on SP. I've read the article about people loosing double weight by making a food calendar, and it was from here. So, I decided to track my food. How to track then? I looked at several websites, desktop and mobile app, and I decided to come here to SP, because it had the right mix of community, planning, motivation - it was the whole package.. And the more I use SP, the more I like it here.
It changes over time what I like doing the most. Now, I am most interested in the Gestalt in OD. I like to watch movies, write postcards, ride my bike, make photos, get to know people, dance, travel, read, to learn in general. I most love learning languages; I speak French and English, now I learn German. I like gadgets, and I still build my desktop computer from parts. I'm Hungarian, grew up in Budapest.
Now, I support individuals to develop a healthy lifestyle with life coaching. My background is Gestalt, I studied in the Gestalt OSD Center (Gestaltosd.org).
I studied chemical and bioengineering, and worked in R&D in food for a couple of years; lately with fruit preparations for yogurts and ice cream. So, there was always some apple, strawberry, peach, mango, or raspberry around me, which made eating fruits very easy. But in 90% the case, it was strawberry! :-) For some reason, the World is mainly eating strawberry. Strawberry yogurt, strawberry ice cream, strawberry chewing gum, strawberry puree, strawberry jam, strawberry chocolate, strawberry cake.
Before, I worked as a developer of one of the main petfood brands in Europe in my previous job. And as a result, I developed a passion for dogs and cats over those years. Although my frequent traveling lifestyle doesn't allow me to have a dog with me now, I'm sure someone will company me in the future. Any questions on pet nutrition are welcome - just deal with the length of my answer!. ;-)

I love high tech, but somehow, I also love to write postcards. So, if you send me your postal address in a SparkMail, I send you from here where I live, or from one of my trips.

I'm 37, Hungarian, live in Austria.
Thank you for supporting my blog! Have a Happy New Year! I'm going to do much of what worked in 2014 but increase my running speeds and distances, tighten up my diet and try to get to goal weight. My main running goal is to get to 50K by next November.
Thanks for your comment on my new life goals blog. You caught me! I am still pondering some of these and not at all set firm. I felt very successful from my start on Spark by setting goals to exercise, plan menus and do a few minutes of home organizing/cleaning daily. This was not my norm, as I tended to focus on big projects rather than regular maintenance. It still plan exercise, menus and cleaning tasks weekly and it has made my life more peaceful. I am more recently into running and love that as a stress buster. Satisisfies my desire to work up a good sweat, which the 10-30 minute walking didn't, although I think walking daily was the better way to lose the 30 pounds I took off. Currently I am trying to focus on being more intentional and mindful, because it seems to keep me in control of a healthy, productive and positive attitude. Yoga, quiet walks or music, and journaling daily are my steps for that. I have a highly people-oriented job where I get interrupted all day with other people's "emergencies", so I can get grouchy and frustrated if I react to the attitudes of others rather than keeping control of my own mood. There are times when I consider a new job, but I actually like what I do, so I am trying to work out how to manage it better--to control it rather than letting it control me. That's the part where I am still trying to figure out some action steps. Probably a longer answer than you were looking for ...
Your focus on dog nutrition is interesting. I have two black labs, and when we first got our dog, I went looking for a food that wasn't mainly cornmeal and had a hard search. The only food I found that I can buy in a normal store along with my weekly shopping for us humans is Rachel Ray's Nutrish. Any thoughts on that? It seems to nourish shiny, soft fur, which I figure is a good indication of health. Would be curious to hear what you think is best, and any thoughts on sharing people food. One of my dogs especially likes fruit and whole wheat bread, although being a dog, she will eat most anything.
