Here I am again, hoping that somehow I will be more successful with the support of others than I have been on my own.

I tried Beachbody for awhile. I love the workout dvd's I have but I didn't find the support aspect of their program to suite me very well.

I am now about 15 lbs overweight, flabby and out of shape and at the age where weight loss is almost impossible. So I joined Planet Fitness (I will have to blog about this place...such a wonderful value for very little money) and am working with a trainer with my focus on strength training. I can get my cardio at home and since I can't really lose this belly weight I am going to focus on building muscle, toning my legs, back and upper body and getting stronger.

When I worked on biceps the other day I was astonished at how weak I've become. This won't do! I need to focus on gaining strength, improving daily eating and fitness habits and just being healthier in general. I am not going to make a weight loss goal, because I've had no luck losing weight over the last 2 years and have only managed to gain a few more.

Instead my goal is to become stronger and improve my muscle tone and strength. As far as eating goes, I've slacked the last several months and have fallen back into regular snacking and craving sugar all the time. So I am going back to clean eating, drinking more water and healthy teas (I'm learning that green tea is more palatable when combined with a nice chai rooibos or caramel flavored yerba matte...) and am determined to kick the sugar habit and tame my sweet tooth.

I am here to learn from and offer support to others, make new friendships and kindle old ones, gain good and lose bad habits and to once again feel part of a group that is working towards the same goals.

Planet Fitness for ST and personal training.
Cardio at home or during lunch breaks if weather allows for walking
Eat clean and prepare healthy meals on the weekends as well as use my crock pot more during the week

I'm happily married with grown children, grandchildren, an awesome husband and great dog too!

I am a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist and am also an Herbalist. I work in Healthcare.

I love to sing, garden, exercise, crochet, cook/bake, read and make herbal medicines and beauty products. My future goals are to keep chickens, extend my gardening season with cold frames and to learn to can and preserve the food I grow.

My husband and I like to camp, hike, fish and take long walks with our dog Fraulein. We love to grow our own vegetables and herbs. We hope to travel more in the future.

Other Information:
I am looking for a female fitness buddy in my area. I live in South King County, on the west hill of Kent, WA. Anyone out there looking for someone to mall walk with a couple days per week while the weather is so cold?
