Scott's Journey

How's it going?

I am a 48 year old Male who wants to get back down to 230lbs from 260lbs . I am an avid runner, I have ran a marathon and several 1/2 marathons. I also lift heavy weights. Two years ago I got hooked on Yoga. You would think that by doing all this activity that I would be slim and trim. Nay Nay I say. I have no idea about portion control. A whole pizza is a single serving as far as I am/was concerned. Anyways with sparkpeople telling me how much I am eating a day, ...

I hope to reach my goal by the middle of 2010. Here's to a slimmer trimmer me!

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your comment on my "Leadville 10K" blog. I am glad to hear that you would have kept running with a painful injury. A broken leg bone may have stopped us. Soft tissue damage? No way!

I have gotten over the need to out lift young guys. I have three sons that played college football and I bow to their superior strength. And I ain't weak by a long shot.

Now when it comes to running - different story. I can take two of the big boys and it is pretty much a tie with the third. Now, I have two "skinny" kids. (Y es, I have 5 kids) I can't beat Ben or Katie because they got the recessive running gene. Both were highly competitive college runners. When I run a race with Ben and Katie, Ben usually takes overall and Katie wins fastest female. They get this speed from their mom, not me!

Thanks, Bruce

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Yes its one step at a time. Less than 2 weeks until my husband is here, so that will help. And then in 3 weeks when school starts, a routine will help. Its hard to get into a true routine for the short time of summer...
