Healthy is as healthy does

I did it once and I can do it again ! 130# off and kept off for 3 years. 80# back on now due to poor coping skills with stress. This time it stays off. I don't want to die young or be in pain until I die old. I want energy and I deserve to be happy, energetic, and fit ! I've always taken care of others, now I take care of myself. NO MORE GUILT !!! I have choices.

Update: I had actually gained 147 # from my laziness. I had been at 177# for 3 years and still felt fat and out of ...

October 2013 I started again because I was unwilling to totally give up on myself. I discovered I really do love myself and I am worth so much more than what I think food & laziness were giving me.

My Goals:
1. Drink 8 glasses of water dly
2. do some sort of moving/ exercise minimum 3 days a week 30 minutes
3.Log food
4. Reward self with non food treats
5.add 15 minutes 1 x wkly weights/ strength

My Program:
Just starting again so small steps to a large goal. Drink the water, move the butt, be accountable to myself regarding the food I overeat. Better yet, don't overeat.

Goal is to release this weight in 10% increments

Personal Information:
Started 2/15/07, rejoined 11/17/2013. I work as a nurse, no stress there...I love my family and my pets. I have no children. I am 52 yrs old and tired of being in pain so I am choosing to change my life for the better, to make positive choices and to be thankful for all things in my life good or bad as it will teach me in the end.

Other Information:
Love to RV. I had a 1988 class A Fleetwood pacearrow. Mom used to joke that it is so delaminated, she expects to look in her rearview mirror some day to see a class A convertible. LOL. Work full time, so camping is weekends and one 2 week trip yearly. I have 1 dog and roomie has 2, all eskimo's. Also like to bike but have to adjust handles again as wrists go numb fast.

Hi! thanks for your greetings. I was afraid of swimming for along time because I had a teacher as kid that scared me. Then I had a friend that kinda pushed me to try and I'm still swimming, while she gave up. I realized I love the 'soggy embrace' of the water. My early lesson did leave me with the idea that I can at least float and it served me well.

If you've found the method of movement that you enjoy, that is the best feeling. Good luck on the challenge.

Thanks for the goodie. I think blogging is a good way to think things through when we're upset or just confused. The old trick of getting paper and pen and just writing until things start making better sense has just moved to the computer screen. That good thing about that is we get feedback from other people.

That is sooo close, but I don't drive and hubby works full-time so I wouldn't be able to get over there!!!! :( Unless you also have a vehicle attached to that RV and can meet me in my town! I'm in Dowagiac, which isn't far from South Haven!

Just answering your comment on my page - I don't so much struggle with planning food as sticking to the plan! I can resist anything but temptation. I tend to eat too much sugar and carbs...and once I get started it's hard to stop. I do get a lot of exercise - which allows me to eat more. But then if I do less exercise, it's hard to break the habit of eating more....
