Here's to "newbie"ginnings :)

Hi, I'm Lorraine. I'm 42 and from Newfoundland, Canada. I'm trying to lose maybe 25 lbs by the end of 2008. I'll work on the rest in the new year. I know it's going to take a long time to reach my goal but I hope to do it with a lot of support!! I look forward to meeting and seeing a lot of you around the message boards! I'm not uploading any photos...I still can't get passed the "I look so repulsive" feeling. Hopefully, as the weight drops, I'll get the nerve to upload a pic. See you all ...

My Goals:
1. Weight loss of course BUT to take baby steps in doing so.

2. To not expect the lbs to come off by a certain date as I had here in my previous set of goals. (50-60 lbs by Christmas). It could happen but it's a tall order and by making that my primary goal, I'm already setting myself up for failure. Therefore, I'm going to be happy with what I do lose instead of being upset and frustrated that it's not coming off fast enough.

3. To make exercise a part of my life...even if I only start out at 3 times a week.

4. To enjoy the benefits of leading a healthier lifestyle.


My Program:
1. Stick with the program!!

2. Try and consume at least 8 glasses of water per day (eww I hate water!!)

3. Aim to stay within my caloric/carb/fat/protein daily goals.

4. Never give up!!!

Just a early reminder,Just wanted to stop by and see how you are doing we are going to be posting soon the July 2008 sign up sheet emoticon and the July 2008 post lbs and inches lost. emoticon emoticon emoticon So be sure and sign up for July Goonies have lost since 1/1/08 over 860 lbs. Welcome to the Goonies! Walking is a terrific way to lose weight when you are first starting out. Make a goal to walk 10 minutes everyday. Invest in a good pedometer and never pass up the opportunity for free exercise (park your car further from your destination, use the stairs etc) It is very difficult at first, but it will get easier! You are a beautiful person, and you can do this!
