Feeling my Age ....

As much as I hate to admit it, I am not as young as I used to be! My body is telling me that every day now. I want to push myself and get hard workouts in, but my body is telling me that if i do that, it needs extra time to recover. So, I listen to my body and give it some extra rest. I guess I need to incorporate more yoga and stretching more consistantly into my weekely routine.

I am planning my race schedule for next year with the intent of training hard and beating my times ...

I am planning my race schedule for next year with the intent of training hard and beating my times from last year. This will be my third seson to Triathlon racing and I just love it. I have fallen in love with swimming and have learned to conquer some big fears.

My main focus is to become a better / fast runner this year . I hope to fit in some 5ks and 10ks to keep my focus on running along with the same Triathlon races that I competed in last year and maybe one or two more!

I just finished my 2nd Sprint Triathlon. My good friend Cathy inspired me last year when I watched her train, compete and succeed in her first Sprint Tri.

This year I decided I would Tri too. I hadn't concidered myself an "athlete" since high school when I was very active in HS sports. I started training with friends, going to tri clinics and met some really fantastic dedicated women. My mind was made up to compete in the June Y-Tri (all womens event YWCA). I have been working out for years, but never really for any event, just "vacations" and seeing friends and family.

Now I have come to another level of fitness and have to say, I feel the best I have in years. Although the scale doesn't often show me the number I hope and want to see, and my pants are sometimes too snug, I know that I am as fit and toned as I have been since HS.

There is still work to be done, but I have the motivation to do it. Through all my wonderful Spark friends, Teams , threads and especially my partners, I have learned to eat right, worked through my training issues, and had my questions answered. Without SP I would not have been kept accountable and would easily have quit when I was down. Thank you to all my SP friends, teams and partners and most importantly, my sister (who is also a SP friend and partner!!)

Through the process of training, competing and finishing better than my goal times in both events, I realize that I can do what I set my mind to do and.....Succeed!

Daily Diet:
100g+ PROTEIN
1200 cals/day till I reach 120lbs, then taper up to 1300, etc.

I just started a new job and LOVE it. It is honestly a "quality of life" move for me. I can spend more time with my family and less time working. I have reached my 120 goal and am in maintaince mode now. I am not tracking like it was, but still eat pretty much the same foods, so i know my limits. i continue to be a 5am basement dweller, working out to my (large) library of DVD's. It has become my way of life.
Just like Spark People.

I continue to rely on ALL of my spark friends to motivation, inspiration and challenges!

I joined SP September '06, but didn't really get active until Jan '07. since then i met my goal wt (115) and didn't like it, so am now maintaining my weight between 117-122. i feel very comfortable in this range and it gives me a little more freedom in my diet. I have honestly taken on healthy eating as a life style as well as exercising, working out at home and running.

I find so much motivation and inspiration from all my spark teams! With everyone behind me, i have been able to acheive my goals and beyond.

4-26-08 I feel like an update is in need. I am currently in the 124-128 range and just can't seem to get below 124 for more than a day. Started doing Tone It Up 2-3x /wk along with ST 3x/wk and increasing cardio when i can fit in extra workouts. Would like to reach and maintain 120 by Memorial Day.

Thanks to all the support i get from all my SP friends, I am staying accountable (through the good and the BAD!). My "partners" really keep me on track and focused!

My Goals:
9/06 I am ready to loose that last 10 pounds and firm and tone my muscles! I am committed to making this a life style change, so as I head closer to my 40's (not that far away!!) I can do it w/o as much dread!!.

9-07 I have met my goal weight range and am now working on toning my upper body and core, while building lower muscle strength.

My Program:
9/06 i am eating healthy and work out at home 4-5 x's week.. using the FRIM! program.

9/07 maintaining SP calorie range, tracking food intake and calories burned. I just started working out with the P90X series. so far i love it!

Personal Information:
I grew up in Central PA, moved to Montana and lived there for 10 years before moving back to PA to be close to family while starting my own. My darling daughters are now 8 and 4. They see me exercising and eating healthy, and like to "imitate" me. It makes me very proud that they see that and make healty choices on their own.

Other Information:
I love college Football and am an AVID Penn State Fan. I bleed blue and white.

FINALLY feeling better, but still not 100%. Tried walking on the treadmill Sat. and got lightheaded like I was going to pass out. Tried again today (eliptical 15 mins, walking on treadmill about 25) and did OK, but still got the cold-sweat feeling. This thing REALLY kicked my butt. Good news is I lost weight :) Now if I can just not gain it back...... :0 Thank for asking.

And where in Mississippi is your hubby? My kids live in MS.

Thanks for checking on me! Still struggling to get back to tracking. Yes, I do pre-track and then go back and fill in missed meals (most of the time). I think this colder weather has thrown me for a loop! Will try and do better. Did get to the gym this AM (hand weights 30, walking fast on treadmill 30). Trying to get back on track!

Your tracking today looks good! How do you drink that unsweetened Almond milk? I bought some and it's definitely not my favorite!!

Hi Erin: LOL Your comments on the thread made me check your tracker (cuz I had to see what 'really' bad meant to you). You ended on 1300+ yesterday and 1900+ the day before - although I didn't look at the specifics of what you consumed (but a girl's got to have her wine!!!) , the cal. count wasn't too crazy!!!

Keep tracking - that'll keep you in-touch with your goals, but don't beat yourself up either!
