My highest weight in 2006 was 226 lbs and I went up and down over the next four years as I struggled to lose. By 2010, I was already down 40 lbs but was having trouble making more progress. That year, a co-worker told me about SparkPeople. I was skeptical at first, but tracking my nutrition and fitness on SP while completing P90X and Insanity back to back helped me shed another 26 lbs and go from a 36" waist almost down to 30".

After my mom passed away in 2011, I had trouble maintaining my motivation and slowly regained the last 26 lbs I had lost. Having undone all that hard work, I wasn't sure it was possible to do it all over again. Then in March 2013, I subscribed to SparkCoach and it helped gave me the motivation I needed to get back on track. A second round of P90X and Insanity, plus disciplined nutrition tracking got me back to where I wanted to be by September 2013. Though I've had my ups and downs over the years, the one thing that has remained consistent is that I haven't given up on my goals. I want to reach a healthy weight and fitness level and stay there so that I will have more energy, more confidence, and enjoy life.
