My Goals:
My goal is to weigh less than 155 pounds. I'd like to run a 5K this December and eventually, I'd love to run a marathon. I have several friends who have inspired me to try and I keep this in mind every day but so far, I'll settle for walking a 5K.

Personal Information:
I am a nurse in the hot American Southwest. Working nights, I take care of new moms and babies and they are part of my inspiration. I teach young (and some not-so-young) moms how to care for themselves and realized that I was NOT taking care of me. So, I'm all sparked up and teaching me to take care of me and it feels GREAT!! I love computers and games (I'm a pro at Plants vs. Zombies!), love my backyard (although not in the summer), and love reading, photography and traveling. I have one son, married to a wonderful man and still have no grandkids (are you listening CJ???)

Other Information:
I am reading all of the books (one at a time) in my study that I bought over the years.

Hey, thanks for adding me as a friend and commenting on my blog about the BodyMedia Fit armband!

After I posted that blog in May 2011, I stopped wearing it. Interestingly enough, I also maintained (actually gained a bit) weight for the remainder of 2011. In May 2011, I was about 185, and I ended the year at 194. I got serious again at the beginning of this year and began wearing the armband again mid-February. I've lost about 20 lbs since that time.

So -- to answer you -- I really like it and do feel like it helps me with my weight loss. Ultimately it's my eating and exercise that determine the weight I lose. The device is simply another way for me to hold myself accountable. Example: if I have a daily calorie burn in mind, being able to actually see my calories burned helps me to reach my goal and figure out how hard/long I have to work out to reach that goal. If you're a numbers person like me, I would suggest getting some sort of armband or HRM.

Hi...there's been 'talk' from a Sparker Seemaine, who mentioned about meeting Sparkers from Tucson and Phoenix area...but I haven't heard any dates...of course I will let you know if that materializes.
Now that the weather is cooler, we could set up something to meet for a walk. I am retired and can meet anytime. The cooler the better for me...LOL
