My Goals:
My goal is to be comfortable in my own body, no matter what the number on the scale says. I'd also like to participate in a race (5K walking initially) for the thrill of the event.

My Program:
Log food and fitness and water, every day. Strive to move 6000 steps every day. Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Meditate at least 5 minutes every day.

Personal Information:
As a nurse for many years, I"m adept at being a caregiver, less at being a caretaker. I find that I love what I do as a nurse, from teaching new moms how to change a diaper to responding to emergencies. I also love Centering Prayer, reading a variety of books and blogs, gardening, traveling, and food (cooking and eating).

Other Information:
I am reading all of the books (one at a time) in my study that I bought over the years.

Hey, thanks for adding me as a friend and commenting on my blog about the BodyMedia Fit armband!

After I posted that blog in May 2011, I stopped wearing it. Interestingly enough, I also maintained (actually gained a bit) weight for the remainder of 2011. In May 2011, I was about 185, and I ended the year at 194. I got serious again at the beginning of this year and began wearing the armband again mid-February. I've lost about 20 lbs since that time.

So -- to answer you -- I really like it and do feel like it helps me with my weight loss. Ultimately it's my eating and exercise that determine the weight I lose. The device is simply another way for me to hold myself accountable. Example: if I have a daily calorie burn in mind, being able to actually see my calories burned helps me to reach my goal and figure out how hard/long I have to work out to reach that goal. If you're a numbers person like me, I would suggest getting some sort of armband or HRM.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
