I am working towards heath, one day at a time. I have been up and down on the scale most of my life and have resided on the higher end of the scale most years since graduating from college. While I have had success in losing weight before (up to 80 pounds in 2008), when life has gotten stressful or chaotic, taking care of my health seems to be one of the first things to be sacrificed.
I want to measure my success not only by what the number on the scale reads but, most importantly how I feel about myself and my energy levels throughout the day.
1. Track my food intake everyday.
2. Move my body every day of the week - even if it is a 10 minute walk.
3. Measure my success not only by the # on the scale but how I feel about myself and how much energy I have.
1. Lean protein, vegetables, fruits, and all things that come in their own wrapper.
2. Reduce/eliminate sugars, white stuff (bread, pasta, cheese, processed "stuff").
3. A fitness program that focuses on building up muscle and maintaining aerobic fitness. (4-5 days of weights, 4-6 days of aerobic activity). Now that I am in menopause (surgical), I believe that have muscle mass is key to maintaining a healthy weight and keeping my body strong.
Starting Age : 44
Height: 5' 8"

I'm glad to see you've opened up your page and blogs (which we talked about when we connected late Nov via SparkMail). I see that there aren't too many member comments, but that will change as you participate more in the team forums and/or reading and commenting on other people's blogs.
You have really taken on the challenge since you've returned with those fitness minutes. May you continue this success and create realistic goals and achieve them in 2013.

Success isn't something you have, it's something you DO!”

"Part of abandoning the all-or-nothing mentality is allowing yourself room for setbacks.
We are bound to have lapses on the road to health and wellness, but it is critical that we learn how to handle small failures positively so that we can minimize their long-term destructive effects.
One setback is one setback—it is not the end of the world, nor is it the end of your journey toward a better you.”
Stopping by to wish you a healthy weekend, Spark friend! Remember to keep pushing towards your goals...but if you fall off the wagon, just get right back on again! You can do it! You're worth the effort, you know!
