As a child I was always overweight. In elementary school I dieted by eating only a yogurt for lunch and after a month or so lost quite a bit of excess me! But a few months later, my mother restocked her "canned" chocolate chips in the pantry just steps from my room. That summer found me sitting on my bed, reading and eating chocolate. When I entered high school I was the largest I'd ever been, 200lbs!!!
One Christmas vacation my mother offered to let me try her weight-loss pills (*no judgement or comments please, they were used only for a month and then stopped.*) and to work out with me. That began a journey that I will continue for the rest of my life.
By the time summer vacation rolled around, five months later, I weighed 145lbs and had a new boyfriend that I eventually ended up marrying! In my 20s my lowest weight was 125lbs but found that 130-135 was were I was most pleased with the way I looked.

I joined SparkPeople after my sister had great success with the Biggest Looser weight loss program. My toddler is now 1.5 years and it's time I shed the last 15 pounds baby weight.

My husband loves to cook, and is amazing at it, which doesn't help my waistline shrink. Sitting down in the evening after my baby's gone to bed with a bowl of popcorn is going to be the hardest eating habit for me to overcome.

My Goals:
To lose a bit of weight. And eat more vegetables!


My Program:
As part of the BLC I'm supposed to write out a list of my goals. I hadn't really thought of them too much other than a general "lose weight, eat better". So I am pleased to put in writing what I hope to achieve the next 12 weeks.

1. Drink 8 glass of water daily
2. Eat at least 1 vegetable or fruit with every meal
3. Exercise 10 minutes every day

More goals might be added. But those first 3 are going to be MY "golden rules".

For weight loss my goal is 1 pound per week (with the exception of January 29-February 5 when I am having eye surgery - and I will MAINTAIN). By the end of THIS BLC I will be at 130lbs.

My favorite hobbies are reading (I read anything but my favorite genres are Fantasy & Romance), knitting (I'm on Ravelry!) and taking walks (luckily I live near some of the most awesome Greenways). The Wii Fit has also been a big help on days when it's a little cold or I just don't have much desire to wander outside.
