My goal to being healthy...

Everyone wants to lose weight, but turning 30 has definately changed a few things in the way I view life. I truly believe that the way you treat your body is the way your body will treat you. So too many unhealthy bites could lead to unhealthy status later in life...so I have made a goal to not only lose weight but to become generally healthier with the foods that I eat and the way I live my life.

Update...

Update...
About a month ago I have really become serious about losing weight and generally being healthier overall. I've started to use the elliptical or treadmill at work about 3 times per week. Every weekend I have taken at least one 1-hour walk with my dog and have started really watching what I eat - basically counting calories so that I am aware of how much I am truly intaking. I'm down 5 pounds and am planning to continue...I hope this is the start of a good thing!!

My Goals:
1. Eat more foods with Omega-3.
2. Eat more Soy.
3. Eat more multi-grains.
4. Dring 8 glasses of water per day.

My Program:
I've started doing three major things:
1. Work out on either the elliptical, treadmill or stationary bike for at least 15 minutes 3x a week.
2. Counting calories! Trying to intake the number of calories that would allow me to lose between 1.5 - 2.5 lbs a week.
3. Started taking my dog for an extra long walk that lasts at least an hour on weekends.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now. –Chinese Proverb

Whatever "tree" you're planting right now, may the roots run deep!

Hi there, as the new team leader for SP Class for December 16-22 2007 team, I am asking you to please consider being an active member of the team. I notice that the team has been inactive for quite some time and I would love to get it up and running again so that we may encourage and motivate one another.

Many members of this team has been inactive with Sparkpeople for months/years. With support and commitment we can positively influence our fellow team members to continue on this healthy lifestyle journey.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Brenda

Geia sou koritsi,
thanks for popping in. I was on a trip this passed week and I really surprised myself by being in control with the food. You know how it is, one tends to be very flexible and gets off track very very easily. Hope all is well with you. Don't give up and keep is slow but steady.
Lots of kisses from SUNNY GREECE!!! Summer is here.

Hi there Greekmiss, I just popped in to say hello and WELL DONE for still being active on the site. Also well done on your fitness minutes. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! What dog do you have? Walking the chap can become a great cardio workout. I walk my beagle Brando every morning for 30 to 50 minutes, according to what I have to do in the day. I, as well as he love it!
Bye for now.
