****Update for 2015****
Well I ran my 5k and a 10k and lost a total of 53lbs! After another brilliant year where I bought a house, gained an allotment and a garden and began learning Ashtanga yoga but let my diet and running slip I've put on 23lbs. Now I'm getting back on track with my running, deepening my yoga practice and looking to lose another 43lbs. You can also find me over on the NerdFitness site at
Hi my name is Sam
I joined Spark people in Nov 2012 to try and shed 50 pounds that I've picked up over the last few years. I lead a fairly healthy lifestyle but changes from a retail to a desk job and getting married to a less active partner allowed the pounds to creep on. I want to realign my life to a more healthy setting rather than focus on the weight alone because once it's off I want to keep it off!
Now it's time to rediscover the real me under all those layers!

Fitness Minutes: 16,195

My Goals:
Mainly to reach a healthy weight - so to loose 50 lbs *** achieved*** but after a lapse I've added 23 lbs. My new goal is to lose 43lbs and get down to 120lbs.

To work exercise into my daily routine and make it a habit so I can keep the weight off.

To run 5k as I've never been able to run before and it would be a huge achievement. ***achieved***

New goals for 2015

Lose 43 lbs and get down to 120lbs.

Run at least 3 times a week.

Yoga practice at least 3 times a week.

My Program:
Making the majority of my meals at home from scratch so I know exactly what's in them and eating between 1200 and 1550 calories a day.

Run at least 3 times a week.

Yoga practice at least 3 times a week.
