I am a lightbulb shaped lifer. Since I turned 11, I have had to be weight and diet conscious. I think I've lost the same 10 to 20 lbs. at least a jillion times, but they always seems to find me. My new motivation is to just be the best me I can be. I love to cook and I'm always ready to try a new recipe...my poor DH! I am mom to 5, mother-in-law to 4, soon to be 5, and Nana to 10 (my favorite job!). Enjoy hearing from others who have great ideas.

My Goals:
I really want to loose the weight for good & develop a lifestyle...I can truly "live" with...that maintains my healthy weight.

My Program:
Eating a sensible well-balanced diet, watching fat and carbohydrate intake (trying to eat complex carbs), drinking water, riding an exercise bike or walking on the treadmill, lifting hand weights or using my own weight for resistence. Also trying not to eat after 7:00pm.

Personal Information:
Reside in rural Southeastern Colorado

Other Information:
I love to cook & bake...which means I can self sabbotage watching what I eat. Trying to revamp all my favorite recipes/foods to develop new, healthier versions & looking for new recipes is my passion. Would love to make a career out of creating quick, affordable, healthy, family meals available for all those who never seem to have enough time to take care of themselves because they are so busy taking care of everyone else.

Hi Graz. I was busy with my grandson yesterday. He only weighs 23 pounds, but my arms are dead tired today. If nothing else, I need to get stronger to be able to lift him. So far he's a short little guy. I'm using dumb bells for now too. It's hard to believe that 15 years ago I could shoulder press 40 pound dumb bells. Now I won't even try to move them. I've been pretty good about exercising and taking my vitamins, so haven't caught anything from him since I started with SP back in October. My husband on the other hand, catches everything. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Did you go to physical therapy? It helped me at first, but then it made things worse. By then, I had almost full range of motion back in my thumb, so I rested it for a few weeks and then started using 1 pound dumb bells. I'm still doing wall push ups because of the elbows. I have family all over the state. Mother in Westcliffe, sister in Meeker, sister in Denver and another sister in Dacono. Take care.

Wow Sharon, It has been a LONG time since I last saw you. You Look Great! And you also have a beautiful family! I don't think you need my advice, I could use yours. lol.
We are going on vacation in March sometime so I really need to get in gear and stay focused on loosing a few pounds. I find that I am not as active in the winter months as I am in warmer seasons.
Anyway, it was pleasant hearing from you and drop bye sometime and let me know how you are doing,

- The right column, of the message box, has two sections: Top section contains the current message. Then below the line, members can read the personal items the posting member has added to their spark page.

The hot flashes aren't as bad as they were in the summer. I think the heat of the summer makes them worse for me. Although, my DH likes the house much warmer than I do, it bothers me at night. The cravings and migraines are cyclical, just like when I had periods, sometimes worse than others. I try not to give into the chocolate cravings, by eating a piece of dark chocolate several days in a row. I am told by my doctor that eventually they will end, but as for the time frame, it varies from woman to woman. I hope this information helps you.
