Melsha, how are you doing? That is awesome that you had already lost 3 lbs!!! I think it is so important to celebrate every pound, every milestone! And before you know it we will both have lost 30 lbs.
Every day is a new day. One of my new goals is to stop numbing with food.
I just watched Piers Morgan and he had an interview with Tom Arnold today. It was surprisingly poignant and inspiring. It was about mid way through the interview that I decided that I am going to start my sobriety with food.
Tommorrow will be my first day that I will let go of the shame, the guilt cycle. Tommorrow I will start to eat clean. I will let go of the toxic foods in my life , meaning processed carbs. I have noticed that these foods tend to feel like putting tar in my gas tank. They make me feel lethargic and cranky. I have gone without processed carbs in the past and have had diets of carbs taken in from fruits and veggies only. During these times I have felt great!! However in the past I have felt that these are diets and have basically crashed and burned. I am now noticing that I have to treat this as a detox. I have to wake up each morning and put this sobriety as my first priority, just as Tom Arnold says that he has to do every morning. I feel by doing this I am making the decision to live , not to numb myself with food that day.
Tommorrow is July 25th and I am hoping that it will be my first day of sobriety. I will be taking it one day at a time.
