February 24, 2014

I feel like I awakened a new person this morning. Iíve been in a fog lately. Sometimes I get that way. It could be the diabetes thatís out of control, it could be the thyroid, who knows but I awakened this morning with a feeling of renewal. I feel like today is the day. I think Iíve said that many, many times in my life before. Usually on a Monday just like today but this time itís not because itís Monday. Itís not because Iím on 4 insulin shots a day and waiting on a biopsy result to see if I have cancer or not, nope itís just because Iím tired! Iím tired of this life or should I say, this lack there of life. I spent most of my weekend sitting on a lounge chair playing games on my I-pad. The only thing I did the entire weekend was to cook a meal on Sunday. Thatís sad. Iím going to be 53 years old soon and I havenít begun to live. Iím feeling good about the biopsy. I just donít feel like I have cancer. I know I have other health issues that can actually take me even sooner or quite suddenly. I just really stopped to think about what my poor heart must go through in a dayís time. Itís a miracle itís still working and I canít keep taking it for granted.
So, I still found myself in the McDonaldís drive thru this morning. Like most Mondayís! I ordered oatmeal and coffee though. When I finished my work this morning I took a few minutes to come back to my old Sparkpeople page and reset my goals. I had great success with Sparkpeople before but just gave up only to return to my old habits.
So here I am, at this new starting point but this time something is different. I really do want to live and not just exist any more.

Let the journey begin. Letís call itÖ. Jillís journey to health and happiness.

"It is rewarding to find someone you like, but it is essential to like yourself.
It is quickening to recognize that someone is a good and decent human being, but it is indispensable to view yourself as acceptable.
It is a delight to discover people who are worthy of respect and admiration and love, but it is vital to believe yourself deserving of these things."

"My invitation to you is to begin living every moment as though you are miraculous and deserve to live an extraordinary life.
Fake it if you must and keep faking it until it’s real to you. The gift you will be giving yourself is a lifelong journey of discovery, one that is infinite and infinitely rewarding. Begin the journey. Today. This moment. Now."

"Whenever you make a mistake or get knocked down by life, don't look back at it too long.
Mistakes are life's way of teaching you. Your capacity for occasional blunders is inseparable from your capacity to reach your goals.
No one wins them all, and your failures, when they happen, are just part of your growth. Shake off your blunders.
How will you know your limits without an occasional failure? Never quit. Your turn will come."

"Three of the most powerful words in the English language are 'I AM RESPONSIBLE.' It's tough to do, but when the day comes that you can say those words, believe them, and mean them, it will be the most liberating moment of your life. Taking responsibility for all of your results, for better or for worse, is taking back your power to create results in your life."

"Just because we are knocked down does not mean that we are out.
We still have breath in our lungs and tears flowing down - all signs that we are alive!
Take a deep breath and be reminded that often our biggest struggles are stepping stones to our greatest victories."
    -Rae Smith
