Hello Sparkfriends!

Since joining Sparkpeople a couple of years ago I have made a complete change in the way I live.

I am now aware of what it takes to stay fit and healthy. I use to eat whatever I wanted and not be concerned about what it might be doing to my health. As a result I had high blood pressure and cholesterol and weighed more than the Dr. said I should.

Since joining Sparkpeople a couple of years ago I have made a complete change in the way I live.

I am now aware of what it takes to stay fit and healthy. I use to eat whatever I wanted and not be concerned about what it might be doing to my health. As a result I had high blood pressure and cholesterol and weighed more than the Dr. said I should.

I have changed the way I eat and exercise and after being on blood pressure medicine for 7 years was taken off of it last year!
I have been able to keep it at a normal level trough diet and exercise. I have brought my cholesterol down 36 points this year also. I don't think I would have been able to do it without the help of Sparkpeople. This site is full of so much information to help you be the best you can be.

I am not perfect and sway away from the program from time to time but my Sparkfriends are always there to get me back on track. Sparkfriends are very special to me! Thank you all for the support.

If you are just starting on your journey with Spark hang in there you will gain knowledge and friends that will stay with you through your ups and downs.

My Goals:
To get healthy by eating right, exercising on a daily basis and losing weight along the way.
My short term goal is to get to 130 lbs.
My long term goals are to weigh 120 or less and not have to take BP medication
any more.

Goal met 11/7/14 No longer have to take BP medication.


My Program:
I try to exercise a min. of 20 mins. daily.
My favorite form of exercise is walking.
I have been making healthier food choices.




Other Information:
I love to be outdoors. Summer is my favorite season. I love to be by the water and go swimming. My favorite thing to do is go to the pool and swim and read a good book. Ah, how relaxing.
I'm 58 years old.
I have been married for 38 years and have 3 children and 8 grand children .

Hi Terri
Well, we ended up with 5.1 inches of snow. Could have been worse. I look at it that we can't control the weather, so I don't let it bother me. Of course, it is a good feeling knowing I don't have to go out in it for work. We can sit at home and enjoy the beauty in it.
Sounds like you have been very busy lately. It's good you have been able to get your steps in.

Sun is shining, but pretty cold. I will go out later. Tons of housework to do, but I am feeling lazy.

Have a good week. It's been in the 40's this weekend, so snow has been melting and some areas we can see grass. They say snow coming again tomorrow. Nothing we can do, but some people get crazy about it. I figure if we get hit with a lot, I have plenty of things I can do. It's February already. Each day is one day closer to spring.
