Thanks for your comment on the "What are parents?" poem. I considered editing it (adding comments) regarding our current adventures in parenthood - son, age 8 and daughter, 3.
They're the wonderful couple (wonderful? 10 yrs and counting) who've given so much, (could always do more) And who bring love and joy to the lives that they touch. (We certainly try, but I'm sure my son wouldn't agree when we make him clean his room.) They're two special people who willingly share, Who are never too busy to listen and care, (We are busy, but NEVER to busy to listen and care.) They're the ones who encourage and patiently guide, (patiently? hmmm...patience can be tough) Who think of their children with genuine pride ~ (I really do. They're good kids!) And because their devotion is loving and true, (definitely devoted) Their "family ties" last a whole lifetime through! (Here's hoping!)
Parenthood is hard and being a grandparent is the reward, right? Enjoy those grandbabies!
