Hi! I am the grandmother of 19, plus 2 Finnish granchildren (exchange daughter) and 2 local grandchildren (a "borrowed" daughter we grew to love) and 3 "grand-siblings" of my grandchildren, and a great-grandson born October 17. That makes me grandma of 27! I am a Special Education Program Coordinator for 3 school districts and I am a Webkinz dealer.. In my spare time, I like to walk my 2 Havanese with my retired hubby. I plan to join him in retirement in 3 years. But then, I know I will ...

I plan to join him in retirement in 3 years. But then, I know I will never really stay "retired." I struggle with my weight. I sit in my car and drive to meetings at school (where I sit) and to my office (where I sit some more!). I work long hours and use every excuse I can find to NOT get up early to exercise. I want to lose weight but I need support bad! I am diabetic, have high "everything" and need to improve my health.

My Goals:
I want to lose 60 pounds this year. That would be a good start!

My Program:
Right now I am eating Seattle Sutton Healthy Eating meals. I'm trying to learn again what a "portion" really is. I can't afford to stay on this forever - just need a boost.

Personal Information:
I live in a tiny town (less than 500) called Lostant, IL. We are 90 miles SW of Chicago. I work fulltime as a Special Education Coordinator. I plan to retire in June, 2011. I have a wonderful husband, 7 children, 3 former exchange daughters (German, Finland and Hungary), 25 grandchildren and 1 great grandson due Oct 2008. I live with my husband and 2 furry children, Holly and Duffy, purebred Havanese. I love to read.

Hi again! I will try my best to be an encouragement! I know how hard it is to work in Special Ed. AND to stay active; been there, done that!!! My first advice is to start small on the exercise if you're not used to it. The man who started this site with his wife has a "10 minute a Day" Spark Team.
I joined it first believing I could DO at least that much. That got me started.
I'm only 5'2" & my beginning weight last January was 142; my Mom was also short & struggled with her weight for years. When I found this site last Jan., I decided to start working; my first goal was to make it to 130 & I did that I think a week earlier than I'd planned. It takes effort, but if you keep doing what they tell you to do, the weight will come off. Just don't give up!!! Let me end for today! I promise to be back soon.

Anne

You're very welcome for the rose. As I mentioned, my 36 year old daughter has Down Syndrome & I appreciate all the tireless effort, love & care that her workers give her. She does not live at home but spends every "Wednesday with Mom", it seems to be the highlight of her week even though she keeps busy every day! If you ever want to 'chat', come to my page, you'll be very welcome.

My best to you on your journey on SP.

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God-those whom he has called according to his plan Romans 8:28
