Winter 2010 5% Challenge - Spirit Team Member

Getting ready for the Winter Challenge...

Hello all! I'm looking forward to the challenge in the next day or two.... I NEED to have some accountablity to keeping on track, exercising, and monitoring my blood sugar and carbs. I think the Challenge is just what I need...

My goals for the challenge include:
* Exercise 5 days a week, starting with 15 minutes but increasing throughout the challenge
* Adding strength training week 3 or 4 of the challenge - ...

Hello all! I'm looking forward to the challenge in the next day or two.... I NEED to have some accountablity to keeping on track, exercising, and monitoring my blood sugar and carbs. I think the Challenge is just what I need...

My goals for the challenge include:
* Exercise 5 days a week, starting with 15 minutes but increasing throughout the challenge
* Adding strength training week 3 or 4 of the challenge - especially focusing on my upper body to address my arthritis
* Supporting my team mates as we strive to meet the challenge through the holiday season
* Monitoring my blood sugar 3x a day as requested by my PCP
* Tracking food intake at all times, managing my carbs to 135-145 grams each day
* DRINKING 8 glasses of water at a minimum each day

I'm back after almost a year away. I haven't made a lot of progress but will make that happen now.

I'm employed, still married, happy "mom" to Cisco who is challenged with a debilitating illness, and back in graduate school.

I'm looking forward to learning from all of the SparkPeople out there who have learned to live a more fit and active lifestyle.

My Goals:
I would LOVE to get off of nearly all, if not all, of the medications I'm on!

I would like to comfortably hike either here in Santa Fe or in Colorado where we own some property.

I want to be happy... Is that so wrong???

My Program:
Currently my focus is on exercising and making better food choices. I'm counting my carbs as advised by my PCP...

Drink LOTS of water!
