My goals for a lifestyle change.

I am a late bloomer as far as my health is concerned. I didn't take my diabetes seriously. Now I have neuropathy in my eyes and feet. I want to stop any further damage and take better care of myself. I love to cook, bake and eat. Will start a more healthy approach to this end.

My Goals:
My current goal is to lose 5% of my body weight. This is a small but doable goal for me. I have type 2 diabetes. My long term goal is to lose 60 to 70 pounds. I figure if I lose between 1/2 to 1 pound a week it will take me about 1 year to lose.

My Program:
I will start heating smaller portions on smaller plates and bowls while at home. I will ask for half portions to be boxed up when out eating. I will start walking and increase the time and distance as I get stronger. Have not exercized since I got out of the Army.

Personal Information:
Orginally I'm from Wisconsin but now live in Georgia.
