Busy Grad Student

I'm a busy grad student, studying Arts & Technology. I'm also an adjunct community college instructor, teaching video game level design. For some reason, whenever I'm really busy I just want to eat ALL THE TIME. It's like my body thinks that since I'm working so hard, it must really need more calories! Apparently, it doesn't realize that I'm actually doing fairly sedentary work.

On my own, I've pretty much succeeded in preventing myself from gaining more weight in the past couple ...

On my own, I've pretty much succeeded in preventing myself from gaining more weight in the past couple of weeks, but I've returned to SparkPeople because it looks like if I don't actually track I'm not going to lose any of the weight I've put on. My first goal is to get back down to about 165, which has always been a kind of "default" weight for me that's fairly easy to maintain. That means I just need to lose about 8 pounds for now, which really should be easy!

Of course, I'd love to get back down to about 145 before I graduate with my MFA. That would be awesome, and maybe this time I'll actually think of it that way when I get there, without getting bummed out because I can't seem to lose any more weight.

Thanks for the blog support! I went through the same thing - I was at a normal BMI a year ago and it slipped right back to where I started. So I did it again! I won't give up until I reach my goal, and then I won't give up until I learn to maintain it.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah I know whole grains are best but honestly not much of it is available here :(

You can get some forms of brown rice but it`s all expensive and meant to be mixed into white rice 1:2. But it`s better than nothing!
