I am going to lose 50 pounds in one year. I began on June 1st 2012.
I also want to eat better and get into much better shape.
I walk with my dog every day. She doesn't let me miss a day!
I do weight lifting with Kathy Smith's tape 3 times a week. I do "Abs of Steel" by Tamilee Webb 4-5 times a week. They are really helping me get in shape. I know a lot of people hate strrength training but I love doing it. I love the way you can still feel it hours later.
I have started the 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Program from SP. Maybe I'll turn into a runner, weirder things have happened!
I love how the nutrition tracker helps to keep me in line.
I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico with my husband of 39 years, my son and my dog.

Thank you, Sue, for the comment on my blog. I am working on figuring some things out. I am convinced that the coldness has a lot to do with drinking ice cold drinks at the rate of a gallon a day. My body needs to heat my core that is being frozen and leaves my fingers and toes to fend for themselves.
Or it could be the ketonic diet I have been on for a year. Or it could be that I weigh 120 lbs less than I did 7 years ago.
“The difference between stepping stones and stumbling blocks is not in the event itself but how you think about it and what you do after it. Every failure and setback can become part of your success or an excuse for quitting or failing. People who develop the discipline of positivity are both happier and more successful." -Michael Josephson
Just dropping by to say hello, Sparkfriend! Remember, you don't have to be perfect on this journey in order to make progress! As long as you keep trying...and never quit...you are already a success! Keep doing your best, because you are worth the effort! Hugs, Pixie
"Part of abandoning the all-or-nothing mentality is allowing yourself room for setbacks. We are bound to have lapses on the road to health and wellness, but it is critical that we learn how to handle small failures positively so that we can minimize their long-term destructive effects. One setback is one setback—it is not the end of the world, nor is it the end of your journey toward a better you.” -Jillian Michaels
"It is rewarding to find someone you like, but it is essential to like yourself. It is quickening to recognize that someone is a good and decent human being, but it is indispensable to view yourself as acceptable. It is a delight to discover people who are worthy of respect and admiration and love, but it is vital to believe yourself deserving of these things." ~Jo Coudert
I hope you're having a good weekend so far, Sparkfriend! I just wanted to stop by and share a couple of great quotes with you. Keep pushing to reach your goals, one day at a time. Always believe that you are worth your absolute best effort...because you are! Hugs, Pixie
"My invitation to you is to begin living every moment as though you are miraculous and deserve to live an extraordinary life. Fake it if you must and keep faking it until it’s real to you. The gift you will be giving yourself is a lifelong journey of discovery, one that is infinite and infinitely rewarding. Begin the journey. Today. This moment. Now." -Robert White
"If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination. The will to endure to the end, to get knocked down seventy times and get up off the floor saying. "Here comes number seventy-one!" = Richard M. Devos
Thanks for your comment on my blog, "My Success Plan For September." I'm going to work hard to make September great, and I hope you have a healthy and successful September, too!
"Defeat may test you; it need not stop you. If at first you don't succeed, try another way. For every obstacle there is a solution. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. The greatest mistake is giving up." -Unknown
