Never Stop Believing

I am 60 years old. Now it is time to get healthy and lose weight.

I enjoy taking my dog Chloe to the dog park daily. We love to walk around the neighborhood too.

Although my profile says I joined August 2011, I really didn't start until June 2012.

My Goals:
I am going to lose 50 pounds in one year. I began on June 1st 2012.

I also want to eat better and get into much better shape.

My Program:
I walk with my dog every day. She doesn't let me miss a day!

I do weight lifting with Kathy Smith's tape 3 times a week. I do "Abs of Steel" by Tamilee Webb 4-5 times a week. They are really helping me get in shape.
I know a lot of people hate strrength training but I love doing it. I love the way you can still feel it hours later.

I have started the 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Program from SP. Maybe I'll turn into a runner, weirder things have happened!

I love how the nutrition tracker helps to keep me in line.

Personal Information:
I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico with my husband of 39 years, my son and my dog.

"If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination.
The will to endure to the end, to get knocked down seventy times and get up off the floor saying. "Here comes number seventy-one!"

"Three of the most powerful words in the English language are 'I AM RESPONSIBLE.' It's tough to do, but when the day comes that you can say those words, believe them, and mean them, it will be the most liberating moment of your life. Taking responsibility for all of your results, for better or for worse, is taking back your power to create results in your life."
-Tom Venuto

I loved London. Paris not so much. Never been to Rome. I hope you share about your travels when you return and I hope your trip is super fun and special!

Thanks for the comment on my blog about being stressed out by food. Your suggestion of a monthly meal plan is intriguing. I tried something like that for a week, but by that Wednesday my partner was already wanting to switch it up (he's very much driven by cravings of the moment). If I say, "here are your options..." I will usually get, "But what about (this) instead?" GAH! So maybe I will take my lead from you and write a monthly plan with one or two free days per week, and then take a stand. Yes, a glorious stand against dietary tyranny! LOL Thanks again, and have a great week!

The spell check here is a joke. Today's blog came up with these words as wrong: Buddah and donut.

Crepe was right, but I don't know how to make the fancy letters on the computer to spell it right.
