New Year-Beginning AGAIN!

(updated Jan 2010): Okay so i joined SP in August 2007...really stuck to it...ate right, exercised, etc...and managed to lose 20 pounds in a little less than a year (June 2008)! YAHOO!

but....now here I am nearly 2.5 years later and I'm right back to where I started at 151 pounds! UGH! I'm pretty thoroughly disgusted with myself and now w the new year starting, i'm going to work real hard again to ...

(updated Jan 2010): Okay so i joined SP in August 2007...really stuck to it...ate right, exercised, etc...and managed to lose 20 pounds in a little less than a year (June 2008)! YAHOO!

but....now here I am nearly 2.5 years later and I'm right back to where I started at 151 pounds! UGH! I'm pretty thoroughly disgusted with myself and now w the new year starting, i'm going to work real hard again to get back to where I should be weight and "control"-wise. I always sort of had in my head that since I knew how to do it, then it was okay to say "whatever, i can be 'bad' a little longer, i can lose this weight when i'm ready." Well, that delay of chosing a more healthy lifestyle has had a terrible outcome!

I also had a bunch of excuses for not being good over the past 2 years: got pregnant, lost baby, Dad died then grandmother died...lots of reasons to be "bad"....but none of that eating and drinking and NOT exercising made me feel better, now did it!?!? And look where it has led me...to a big fat tummy and not many clothes to wear and a general disgust w my body and self each day as i try to look decent enough to face the world!

but now I realize that 2.5 years of excuses and procrastination was about the stupidest thing i've done. I need to find the strength and control to get back to that place where I felt so good (healthy and looking good too!).

So today i start tracking my food again and i'm going to start exercising a little each day (building up to running again). I will also give up sweets and alcohol until Valentine's Day...that's about 6 weeks from now and I think I will see a good difference in that amount of time. Of course, after only breakfast and lunch (a little over 1,000 cals today), I'm already STARVING! but i think i just need to re-train my body to eat less and in about a week i should not be starving anymore!

Now i have written it and it should be so....i need lots of will power and i know its inside of me somewhere but it's probably just suffocating w all the fat around it! hee hee

My Goals:
OKAY-NEW GOALS-starting January 2010:

NO SWEETS til Feb. 14

NO ALCOHOL til Feb 14.

Exercise 5-6 times a week and burn 2000 cals a week.

Lower 5K time (currently about 11 min per mile).

Get to 130 by the end of the year (Dec 31, 2010).

My Program:
trying to limit the fat and calories and up the fiber in my diet (due to history of colon cancer in my fam). Trying to stay within limits suggested by SP.

Cardio 5-6 times per week. I'm trying to burn 2000 calories a week.

Strength 2-3 times per week.



Personal Information:
Live in Gtown, TN near Memphis (home of THE KING-Elvis for those of you not in the know). Have a great husband and two awesome little kiddos (4 and 6 years old).

H = 5'2"
BMR=1360 (no movement)
active BMR=2327 (60 mins cardio)
BW=152 (aug 07)
LW=132 (jun 08)
CW=151 (jan 10)
mid-year goal=140 by june 2010
ultimate goal=130 by December 2010

Good to hear from you. Yes, I am still at Prairie Life- A few pounds from my low weight and still having a hard time putting down the WOW- or in my case BOWOW. And as always I would love to have someone to workout with. I just finished a 8 week challenge at work, that kept me going until the very last 2 weeks, when I had a virus-got rid of that-then came down with a bad cold. I kept trying to exercise when I should have taken off the time. The challenge was my idea and I didn't want to be the one wimping out. Any day is good for me (of course). So, when or if you decide you wouldn't mind having a buddy along- just give me the word. You can even call me at the last minute if you wish. Leave a message if I don't answer. emoticon

Do you realize how few people stayed with a healthy lifestyle who joined when you did two years ago? I know they WISH they had done what you have by making such great changes in your life! emoticon

Have been drinking a bit too much. No, way too much. No, drinking and eating WAY too much. Under control today, but that is because I will force myself to weigh in the morning. I am trying hard to get back on track. How is everyone? Hope all is well. Stay in touch.
