This is it!

I'm Heather and I'm on my way to a healthier life-style. I'm bringing my husband Doug and our beautiful daughters Madison ('03) & Reese ('07) along for the ride :)

As a teenager I was very active in sports- tennis, soccer and softball were all main activites of mine. After hitting college I gained 15, got married, had a baby. As a teenager I was very active in sports- tennis, soccer and softball were all main activites of mine. After hitting college I gained 15, got married, had a baby. After a difficult post-pregnancy I gained weight and didn't care much about my health or losing weight. I finally decided to change my life. In January of 2007 I started exercising regularly and watching what I ate. I dropped 20 pounds in 4 months I was so proud of myself and I felt great!!! A few weeks later I found out I was pregnant with our second child :) Thankfully, I stayed healthy and exercised through most of my pregnancy and gained 17 pounds. Now it's 2011 and I have new goals in mind! This year I AM running a half marathon in April, keeping track of everything I eat good or bad :p

I'm so glad I've found this site. The motivation and inspiration I've gotten here has helped me stick with my goals. I joined in 2007 and have "met" so many wonderful people. It you're looking for a buddy spark mail me :)

My Goals:
Happiness is key to me :) As I exercise and eat healthier I feel a lot better about myself.

My Program:
Zumba- 1-2 times a week (this is ME time where I meet up with friends for a great workout and some laughs)

Running- 4 times a week either on our treadmill or at our local indoor track

Strength& stretch training- 3 times a week dumbell work & pilates

5/8/10- 1st 5k- 31.48 (unofficial time, they "lost" my info and my watch didn't start and I'm guessing I noticed 5-10 minutes into the race so I'm giving myself the ten min)

6/3/10- 2nd 5K- 36.09 this was a trail course and it kicked my butt!

6/30- 3rd k5- 46.15 this was another hilly trail course and I didn't do well at all. (I need to work on training on hills)

7/1-11/1- no running at all.

11/20- started running again, decided to do a half marathon

1/6/11- I've been training consistently with great results- 5k- 30 min on 1/3/11 :)

Hey girl! It's good to hear from you!
Things have been super-crazy here...I'm a nursing student @ CCC, so I feel like I don't have the time to exercise...and eating has been much less healthy than it should be! I'm on break right now, but go back on the 26th...UGH!
I've really had a hard time staying motivated under so much stress...
How have you been? Again, it was great to hear from you! Hopefully we can help eachother reach our goals!

That would be awesome! And ya...I would love to email with you! It's been a hell of a year in 2009...and 2010 isn't going much better so far, but I'm hoping things start looking up soon! Always the optimist! Hey, ya gotta be, right?
