GOLOPTIOUS is a SparkPeople Motivator!
Update - 5/8/13
I'm not perfect. I do great for several months and then suddenly I've realized that it's been 5 months since I've been to the gym and that I've gained the weight back that I thought was gone forever.
But I keep coming back. I keep trying. That's what's important. I WILL NOT GIVE UP ON MYSELF.
Now I'm 31. I weigh too much, but that will change. I'm engaged to a wonderful man who encourages me to work out and to better myself. I am still trying and I always will be.
I'm 30 and tired of looking and feeling the way I do, so I'm taking charge of my life and changing what I want and NEED to change. I plan on getting in the habit of exercising daily and eating healthier. Hopefully this will help me keep motivated and organized!
If you haven't been following my blog, I talk about Yoda a lot. I'm not referring to the pointy-eared Jedi (most of the time) but about my trainer. His real name is Scott and he works at Gold's Gym in Pocatello, Idaho. If you need a trainer, call him up and tell him I sent you. He is one of the reasons that I have made it so far. I would still be working hard without him, but I work harder and I learn more because of him. Also, I know that he isn't going to gloss over the mistakes I make. He makes me own them. The money I spend on training will always be the best investment I've ever made.
The SparkPeople website is my rock. I have met many people here who are motivating and supportive. They are just what I need. I only hope to support them as much as they support me.
I can see my life changing. I see myself making better food choices and getting annoyed when my gym-time gets interrupted. Weight loss isn't a short journey that will be done in a few months. It is a lifestyle change. Not only does this lifestyle change effect weight loss, but it also changes your world. You become more organized, more dedicated, and more dependable. I've seen it start in my own life and I can't wait until it takes hold and BECOMES my life.
I signed up to run a 5K on September 3 and I ran the entire thing without stopping or walking. Goal achieved!
Here are the facts about me:
- I am overweight. In fact, I am currently in the obese category.
- I lack the energy to play with my nieces and nephews.
- I spent 30 years developing bad eating and exercise habits.
- This is changing.
- I won't stop until I am at a healthy weight.
- I have the best trainer in the ENTIRE WORLD. (Well, this might not be a total fact, but for me he is.)
- The MonaVie RVL system has changed my life, as well as their juices. Ask me about them and I'll be happy to give you information.
- I am learning new habits that I will be able to live with for the rest of my life.
Fact - If you're reading this, then you can do it too.
I also became an independent distributor for a company called MonaVie. They are a health food company. When I first checked them out, I thought that they were too good to be true, but then I tried the product and it is fantastic. They have a weight loss/protein product called RVL (pronounced "reveal") that has helped me immensely. It's a meal replacement program. Then they also have several different juices aimed at doing different things for your body - each one is made with 19 fruits and 4 ounces has the antioxidant equivalent of 13 fruits and veggies. I've been using the product and it works for me. I love it! If you have any questions about it, send me a message. I enjoy talking about the product, so I welcome discussions about it!
My life is going to change. I WILL NOT go back to the way it was. I won't accept my own excuses. I might make mistakes and I won't beat myself up about them, but I also won't tell myself that it's okay. I will turn this FatGirl into a FitGirl and she will be FANTASTIC!

I have a personal trainer (I call him Yoda) that I work with once a week. I alternate routines every other day. On M-W-F I do weight training and some cardio. On T-Th-S I do straight cardio.
The exercises I do change weekly when I meet with my trainer. Mostly I use the treadmill and the elliptical. Weights change every week, though. Yoda is always keeping those routines fresh and new and challenging.
I'm a recently married 31 year old from Pocatello, Idaho. I am the oldest child in a family of 7 children. I have 3 beautiful nieces and 2 adorable nephews.
I enjoy sports of all kinds - soccer, baseball, NASCAR, etc. I love to read and I also love to write. I've participated in NaNoWriMo for a few years now and write a 50,000 word novel each November.
My favorite place to be is the Washington coast. I love that you can hike through trees down to a beautiful sandy beach.
I am a tv and movie junkie. Seriously. I watch way too much, but I love it. Some of my favorite shows are Sons of Anarchy, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Bones, Veronica Mars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Doctor Who, TORCHWOOD, ALIAS, The Amazing Race, White Collar, and many more! Some of my favorite movies are Equilibrium, Prince of Persia, Green Street Hooligans, Grease 2, The Holiday, and Sleeping Beauty.
I am a MonaVie Independant Consultant and I truly believe that their products are changing my life. I've done a lot of research into them and I've used them and gotten amazing results. I lose more weight and feel more energetic and healthy when I'm using their products. Feel free to ask me about them.
