Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
After years of trying different diets and making excuses about my weight, it finally hit me that I needed to take control and do something about it. I signed up for the Healthy Weigh program led by Angela Shaw at Cooper Hospital. The program started March 11, 2008 and that's when my "it's all about me" mentality began. Angela may not realize it, but she has been an inspiration. By the end of the six-week program, I lost 15 pounds, was still motivated to continue (usually by then on any other diet, I would have given up), and was actually enjoying my new healthy lifestyle. My family and friends could see a real change in my attitude about food and exercise. A good friend said to me “it needs to be about you and to succeed you have to stop worrying about everyone else and put yourself first” and she's right.
About 30.5 pounds down into my journey and stuck at losing .5 pound a week for over a month, I discovered sparkpeople. I signed up and found some great tools to help me out and finally got over that plateau. I lost over 2 pounds the first week! I continue to attend follow up classes with Angela every Tuesday, but sparkpeople is my daily inspiration.
2008 was the year I decided to start my healthy weight loss journey and 2009 is the year I will achieve my goal. Here's to an awesome 2009!
Maintain the changes I have made to my nutrition and fitness habits!
The Cooper Hospital Healthy Weigh Program.
Cardio at least 4 times per week. I love the Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds workouts and also try and walk a couple miles outside when the weather is nice.
I am loving the SP Bootcamp videos!!! Those 10 minutes are awesome.

Only One Pound...
Hello, do you know me? If you don't you should. I'm a pound of fat, and I'm the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight. Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to do as I please. So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying "Oh, I only lost one pound." ( as if that were such a terrible thing!) For you see, if you do this you'll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm not worth losing. And I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!! After all, I'm Only One Pound of fat!!!
