Mom of 1 NICU baby and 1 BIG baby

Hiya sparkpeople! I am obese and not happy about that! Our first was born prematurely (micropreemie at 1 lb 6 oz 29 weeks) and the first year was hell. We made it but in doing so I gained a lot of weight. I don't want diabetes, heart disease, etc so it's time to start losing weight. I am 39 years old and the heaviest I have ever been in my life. I want to be here for my husband and my sons so its time to get serious, lose the weight, and this time keep it off!

My Goals:
I had lots of little health related goals that didn't require weighing myself like my being able to put my socks on without a struggle (yay!) and getting up and down off the floor easier (kinda yay not quite there) and going up and down one flight of stairs without huffing and puffing (kinda yay). Biggest medium goals is to hit 199 then 196. 199 and I am no longer in the 200s but 196 and I am no longer considered obese. Not being obese... SO LOOKING FORWARD to that!!!

My Program:
Right now while SN son is in school I can go for morning walks with bebe for 30 minutes. I push myself and go at a good clip, suck my tummy in, shoulders back, and I have added in pushing the stroller back and forth and/or trying to go for longer. Right now I just do this cardio if weather and kids permit. Summer school for SN son ends July 16 and regular school won't pick up until August 25 so I will have to figure out something new to do.

Personal Information:
I am the proud mama of a former micro preemie and a full term super chunk (7 lb 10 oz)! Both crazy cute and my wonderful little boys.

I have a M.S. in mineral physics, worked as a *NIX Sys Admin for almost 10 years and am now going back to school working on my CPA. I am the poster child for figuring out what you want to do the first time around.

I have been a vegetarian (as in no meat OR fish... sorry folks but fish aren't vegetables) for over 20 years.

Other Information:
Beer is the mind killer. Beer is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my beer. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see it's path. When the beer has gone there will be nothing only I will remain.

Thanks for stopping by my photo gallery. Now about the tree's Wood Spirit. This was a 150+ year old tree we have in our yard. It got Dutch elm disease and had to be taken down. We just couldn't take her down all the way...so plan A was to have DH make a table top to go around 3/4 of the tree, adding a bench to it. Than our tree trimmer told us about a city worker who did tree carvings. So we contacted him. He brought along an album of all the trees he had carved and we picked out this face to be put on it. He reminded us that it would not look exactly like the photo as he never carves two trees alike. He is a true artist. Carved this is one day using different sizes of chain saws....obviously all free hand. He stained it and we now put linseed oil on it twice a year. Should be able to preserve it for 10+ years. This turns out to be our pride and joy of our yard.
Hope things are going well for you an d your plan. I'm still sparking and doing well. Have a great weekend! Hugs!
