Why is this so hard?!

I've grown up being a 'big girl' my entire life (Thanks, Mom, for not passing your tiny skinny genes onto me...), but I used to be smaller and healthier than I am now. I do want to be thin and look good, but how can I possibly become something I've never been?

Lilies are my favorite flower too! Before we moved I had an awesome lily garden with all kinds of lilies that my uncle had planted for me before he died. Lucky for me, I know the people that live there now and I can come get the sprouts! (we moved in November, no way to take my lilies then *sad*)

@ Julie: Ooh, thank you! Lilies are my favorite flower. Like, ever. :)

@Rosy: I've considered low-carb, but I honestly have a difficult time going for it. I love things like potatoes and pasta-- and I have a friend who can only basically eat meat because of Crohn's; his cholesterol is going up up up. I suspect it may be one of those things that is good for some people, but I'm not sure it would be right for me.

Faith, welcome to our Cholesterol Support Group. Have you ever thought about doing low-carb? I've been on it for a week now, and I don't have any cravings for anything sweet. I did a lot of research on it, and found that it does make sense to get rid of all the processed foods, sugar, and white flour products. Everything I've read on it says that it will even get my cholesterol numbers in check.

There are some low-carb groups right here on SP. I also joined atkins.com, and fitday.com. They really seem to help me get my diet in perspective. I hope this info helps.

To STAY MOTIVATED I DO THIS ALL THE TIME:::
1) come in, read the posts, and do your postings
2) read, join any teams that you think you like, go to My Spark Points (click there) and spin the wheel, (that is where you go everyday to start with those points)
3) get it know the people and make new friendships
4) read some article.... (you make points reading these too)
5) most of all :: have fun and enjoy yourself

If there is anything that I can do to help, give me a holler. If I do not know the answer, I will find it. Our leaders are really great and help when you need it too. So don't hesitate to ask. That is why we are here ...I'm a single Mom of 3 grown sons......
