It ain't about the weight

I've been on my journey since August 2012 and so far I've managed to lose between 70-75 lbs but recently my view on things have changed dramatically.

You see I've been maintaining my weight loss for a little more then a year now and after a couple of months without losing weight anymore I've started to feel bad about that and so I kind of loss all my motivation and all the will I had of getting healthier.

During this period of time I've also been hit by many more health problems to add to the already long list I had.
I got diagnosed with osteoarthritis which explains the fact that the injury to my shoulders never really healed yet, plus I'm also in the process of getting tested for allergies since I've had 3 bad episodes of allergic reactions and visits to the ER.
So far I can no longer eat anything with nuts, dairy and I've had to change all our cleaning products, cosmetics, etc ... to things without chemicals as we don't know yet which one is making sick. So on the meal planning part of thing it's been a little hard if you consider that I don't eat meat a lot and that I have a severe case of IBS.

So with all that going on me and my boyfriend also decided to get married this summer. It was a last minute thing after 14 years together and it was really intimate and not traditional at all. But still took some time and that's basically what made me realize things and triggered the change in how I wanted to view and keep going with this journey.

I looked at my wedding pictures and in no self-absorb way or anything like that I actually found myself pretty and I looked happy because I was and it had nothing to do with my weight or anything like that.

And that made me realize that I need to focus on something else because clearly I don't need to lose weight to be happy I am ... what I need though is to be healthier, build my muscle mass to help me out with the osteoarthritis problems and be active on a regular basis.
I don't need to train for races or competitions of any kind (that's great for people that are doing it, it's just not meant for me) I just need to keep my body moving a little everyday to prevent further injuries and help with the ones I already have.

And so with all that being said that's what I want to focus on now.
I'll probably wont' talk about weight loss anymore per say and I won't publish weigh-ins anymore because except for the fact that my doctor wants to know my weight I won't continue to weigh myself on a regular basis.
I will though measure how I feel, if doing a 2 miles walk is getting easier now, how many squats I can do in a couple of weeks or things like that.

I know that it will be different for those of you that are still reading my page even though I've been MIA for a while now, but I hope you'll continue to share my journey and yours with me.
