Gluten Free Nut Free Atkins for Epilepsy

My son is on the modified Atkins diet for epilepsy. He has lots of food allergies. I was having trouble finding gluten and nut free recipes, so I will post them here. I like that sparkpeople can track the nutritional info for me too. Hopefully I will soon have many recipes posted.

Yes, I am trying to get him to eat veggies. It is hard. I also need to make his diet higher fat than regular induction. Any advice on getting kids to eat veggies?

One of the things that I learned from Dr. Atkins is to stay away from processed foods. If you look at nutritional labels most processed foods have ingredients that you can't spell or pronounce.

For your son's health, shop the outer aisle at the grocery store where you find the unprocessed foods. Fresh meats and veggies.

Try to stay away from those processed sugary ones ... even the ones that say Sugar Free.

Welcome to Smart Carbing!! We are really happy that you joined us. We are a very friendly group and have many successful and knowledgeable members. Our members are on all kinds of plans such as Atkins, South Beach, Protein Power, Low Glycemic. etc. What we share in common is a desire to eat high quality carbs and leave behind the processed sugary ones that cause medical problems and obesity. Feel free to introduce yourself in the proper forum and join in on the threads and challenges. We usually have a few going all the time. Ask question if you need help and share your successes and challenges with us. I hope you like our group!!
