Hi another Goodie.
USE 295 right to Augusta and as you get off your motel is less than a mile.

Thank you so much for those nice comments. My challenge now is going to be figuring out how to maintain my weight. I love that butterfly bench and our backyard was just certified as a National Wildlife Habitat, so we are getting plenty of action to view from the bench.

Hi MARRIANNE We are very easy we can pick you up at in Portland and bring you to the house.
I know you live in a fancy place but we can put you in a bedroom. I am thinking maybe you have been here to Maine before.
Let me know where you have been and where you have not been.
DH and I do not go too far south of Portland it is much better in the North. The mountains are almost all forested and as you have seen your California mountains then you have seen rocks and majesty.

We find the coast most interesting, You might look up some of the places we love to take people to.
ACADIA NATIONAL Park -Most interesting and well managed. It is like most parks you drop your car and see all the sights for free.
Otherwise you might have to walk along the single lane roads and the lines are a mile long some days.
The buses drop you eight off at the place you want to see.
In Acadia there are gardens to see. Take a google of ACADIA NATIONAL Park and BAR HARBOR.

On the way there is the Penobscot Narrows Bridge where you can take a ride up an elevator and the scenic view is awesome.at the top. Glass windows floor to ceiling. I loved it but I did not stay very long-

Lighthouses if you are interested.
Camden is a lovely Maine destination-shops and food and the harbor is a working area. We have taken a boat out to the islands. It could be a day or a couple of hours.

BOOTHBAY is where the coastal MAINE BOTANICAL GARDENS ARE LOCATED IT IS AN AMAZING PLACE. It has grown since we first went to it. It is getting so popular. It is also getting expensive for Maine people which saddens me. It is a really lovely place .

On the way up you might have already been to LLBean and Freeport Maine.

The coast is the more tourist attraction the Mountains are for the winter sports.
I cannot find a telephone number for you I have been very busy lately .

You might want to sight see alone and if you prefer that, we can still suggest some other sights. Perhaps the visit to Peak's Island will give you some other places too.
PAT IN MAINE I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD to meeting you.
