Funny picture, but too often too true. I will not be that person though!

I've done this weight loss thing before, except without any "loss".

I started gaining weight when I was just going into high school. It wasn't a huge gain at first either. I first noticed it when I began going to the gym with my mother. I was confused at why I was gaining weight after working out with her 3 days a week and being part of the cross country team at school. The gym closing down, and me quitting that cross country team a year later did not help.

That was eight years ago. Through those years, I watched my weight go up and up, until finally, this past year, it's reached an all time high of 243lbs. The scariest part, is 63 of those pounds have been in the past year when I have been "dieting".

I'm not completely convinced that everything is "normal" with my body (severe stomach pains and a rounded hard stomach, pointing me in the direction of a medical condition), but I need to prove it to my doctor and myself that I am doing EVERYTHING physically possible to lose weight. I'm hoping that in losing weight, perhaps my doctor will be able to diagnose what is wrong with me (if it doesn't get cleared up of course!)

I'd like to get down to 145 lbs in the end. I have a long way to go, but I'm hoping to resolve quite a few things with this weight loss. In the meantime, here's my motto:

Life is short. Enjoy every moment of it, be thankful for the things that you do have, and FIGHT for the things you don't.
