Hi! My name is Melissa. I am 28 years old, and I've been overweight almost my whole life. Hi! My name is Melissa. I am 28 years old, and I've been overweight almost my whole life. I started a diet (the Sonoma Diet) on November 27th, 2006 with my mother, I started at about 274 lbs, and so far it's going well! I definitely look forward to a lifestyle change with the Sonoma Diet! I'm also going to be starting exercise with Turbo Jam, which I've done a little before and I love it. I'll also start "Hip Hop Abs" (also a Beachbody program)--which looks like tons of fun! I also recently got a Wii with Wii Fit Plus, and the Biggest Loser Game--so I'll be using those too!

I'm 5'9" tall, and after checking a BMI calculator, my goal is to get to about 140-150 (I'll pick a more specific weight when I get closer to my ideal weight and see what looks about right). I'm hoping to get to my goal weight sometime around/before my 29th birthday (November 24th, 2012)

When I get to 190 lbs, and have the money for it, I'm going to look into going SKYDIVING (which has a weight limit of like 230 to it, so I couldn't do it originally) to mark my big "drop" in weight. ;-)

My Goals:
--Get to my ideal weight (about 140-150) and a healthy BMI.

--Tone up my body, especially my abs.

--Get to a nice (medium-low) body fat percentage.

--Live a healthy lifestyle, for once.

--Fit into a size 6 or smaller, if I can (whatever looks right on me--I won't let myself become underweight just to fit into a smaller size)).


My Program:
I'm using the Sonoma Diet for my diet--both to lose weight, and to eat healthier overall.

I'm using 2 Beachbody.com programs--Turbo Jam and Hip Hop Abs--for my exercise program--to lose weight (cardio), tone up (building muscle/strength), and to HAVE FUN exercising (so I can keep with the exercising both to lose weight AND to continue exercise even after I reach my ideal weight so I STAY at my goal weight and always be as healthy as I can).

I also recently got a Wii with Wii Fit Plus and the Biggest Loser Game, so I'll be using those too!

I'm ALSO doing an at-home study course, for being a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer & Nutritional Specialist! I figured it would help me to not only lode weight/get fit & healthy, but ALSO to STAY that way when I get to my goals! And it would feel great if I could help other people achieve their fitness & nutrition goals somday, also.


Personal Information:
My name is Melissa, I'm 28 years old, and I recently moved back to the USA after living in Germany 2 times for a total of 2.5 years. I'm currently doing some seasonal work for the summer, which I will be very busy with, then I woll look for a long-term job after that. But I've also been a student pilot in the past, which I plan to continue sometime in September or October--and I hope to become a professional pilot for a career.



Other Information:
My biggest challenge is going to be sticking to my diet/exercise plan. Especially when I have a really busy schedule this summer! But I NEED to stay dedicated, and THIS year HAS to be THE year I lose the weight--so hopefully it will all work out as planned.....
